K. B. Joshi Institute of Information Technology was established in July 2006 under the umbrella of Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha. The Institute is affiliated with SNDT Women’s University, Mumbai. As per the guidelines of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), the Institute established the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in December 2014. The main goal of IQAC is quality enhancement in all aspects of the Higher Education Institute.
The NAAC team visited the Institute for Cycle I on 1st and 2nd April 2016. The Institute received NAAC accreditation with a ‘B’ grade in May 2016.
As per the guidelines of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), IQAC has been established to attain the following objectives (Ref: www.naac.org):
To develop a system for conscious, consistent, and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution.
To promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through the internalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices.
To ensure and enhance the quality of education.
Organization of workshops and seminars.
To arrange sessions for teaching and non-teaching staff.
To collect feedback from stakeholders and prepare its analysis.
Representation in the decision-making system of the College Development Committee.
To introduce quality parameters for academic and administrative activities.
Active participation in designing policy documentation for various stakeholders.
To maintain documented records of all activities.
To prepare and submit year-wise Annual Quality Assurance Reports.
Ensures a focus on quality enhancement.
Supports and participates in college policy decision-making.
Ensures enhancement and coordination among various activities of the college.
Ensures effective methods of documentation and internal communication.
Evolves as a transparent system for quality attainment.
