Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha (MKSSS), Pune is one of India’s oldest and most respected institutions dedicated to the empowerment and education of women. Established in 1896 by Bharat Ratna Maharshi Dhondo Keshav Karve, MKSSS began as a small initiative for widows in Hingne, Pune, and has now grown into a statewide educational network.
With 62 educational units across Maharashtra—including Pune, Satara, Wai, Ratnagiri, Nagpur, Kamshet, and Vasai—MKSSS offers holistic learning opportunities from preschool to higher education.
Each year, over 25,000 girl students study across MKSSS schools and colleges specializing in Engineering, Architecture, Management, Nursing, Fashion Technology, and Vocational Training. The Samstha also provides hostel facilities, skill centers, and an old age home, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for women at every stage of life.
For over 120 years, MKSSS has been committed to building confident, capable, and self-reliant women who can thrive in a global society.
